March 24, 2012- I’m still up at work just getting ready to start shutting down the camp and put all these shacks on trucks to get out of the bush before all the roads melt! It’s about 6’C here today so the snow is disappearing pretty quickly. I’m not feeling to good today maybe getting a bit of the flu or some crappy bug…  I am just chatting with my cousin Dean Kuypers and he tells me they got about a foot of snow back home here in the last 2 days! It will all melt quick, damn weather up here doesn’t know what its doing.
My brother Karl and his wife Trish had a baby girl on St. Patrick’s day so I am pretty excited to go meet Miss Karlyn Rain Schreiber and congrats to them on their first kid.
Spring’s awesome, hunting and fishing is awesome, Life is pretty awesome.
Take care all.

March 19, 2012-Things are warming up in Saskatchewan! The snow is starting to melt which is perfect for the ice to be off the lake in time for us to begin fishing at the start of June. We have purchased another brand new boat so we will have the 6 new ones we got last year and a seventh on to add to the fleet just incase one breaks down or has any problems. The new 18 FT Crest liners worked awesome last season and the clients were more than happy with the comfort and room the boats supply. I’m very pleased with them and of course the performance of the 60 HP 4 stroke Mercs that get us where we want to be on the lake.
11 more weeks and we will be on the dock at Cree. See you there and be sure to give us a ring if you want to catch some of the biggest pike and Lakers of your life, you won’t be disappointed!

March 10, 2012- Hello everyone!
My apologies for not being on here in so long. We have had a busy year and everything is going great here in Saskatchewan. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years and the year is off to a great start for you all.
We just got back from Cree Lake a few days ago as we went up to haul all of our supplies in for the summer. It’s always great to get up there even if it is freezing cold outside. Everything looks great at the lodge and we have all the essentials there for the start of fishing season in June and on into July. I will post some pictures of our adventure hauling equipment and supplies in. We purchased a snow cat to help haul in what we need as we bought a brand new generator which would have been a task to try and get in with snowmobiles.
Bookings are going great and we only have about 3 spots left for fishing in June and are beginning to book into the first few weeks of July. Don’t hesitate to call if you’re looking for the fishing trip of a lifetime.
Take care all and I will do my best to keep you posted a little more often on here.

July 30th, 2011- Well the rest of the pictures from June are now in the photo gallery. If anyone has any other pictures that they want in the gallery please E-mail them to me and I will get them in there. I am back at work in the oil field now for a few weeks then I will get some time off around mid August. I plan to maybe get back up to Cree lake for a few days and then hopefully get some trail cam trackers out in the bush for the upcoming deer season. Everyone has been pretty busy this summer and we have had good weather with the expected rain showers mixed in. Bookings are starting to roll in for the 2012 season so if you interested in fishing "drop us a line" or give us a call to lock in a spot!
Take care all

July 2nd, 2011- WOW. Sorry everybody, it has been awhile since we blogged in here last! We have been very busy. We had a great fisnish up at Cree and Adam has closed up camp and is on his way home today I believe. He will be on here in the next while to let you know how the last week went. I made it home last week and had to come to work in the oil field to my real job (wishing I was still at Cree lake). My last few days up there were spent with a great bunch of people and I want to thank Hoby, james, Nick, Bill, Greg, Ron, Mark, Dick, Judy, Rich and Barb as it was a pleasure seeing you all and meeting you.
I made a little video from the bit of footage I captured  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfICuaMAPA8 . check out this link I am working on having it put on the home page.
Work has been busy for me and I get home on the 11th of July. I plan to try and get some cam trackers out in my outfittng area around home and try and get some pictures of some nice whitetails. The I am heading down to Craven jamboree in southern Saskatchewan for a few days. It will be good to have a break and get away for awhile.
I hope we can get back up to the lodge in the later part of August and possibly have some people up to fish the beginning of September. Drop us a note if your interested as I should know in the next few weeks if we are going to open the doors.
keep an eye on the photo gallery as the last 2 weeks of fishign pictures should be up in the next few days!.
Fire me an e-mail let me know what you think of the video brandon_schreiber@hotmail.com

June 21st, 2011- We have had a busy few days with pretty good weather. There has been a strong wind out of the S/E for the past few days that lets up once in awhile but has been pretty consistant. It was a pleasure to have Lyall, Brendon, Bruce, Gary, Josh and Norm and also Paul and Bill in camp this past week. We had a lot of fun with you guys and hope to see you all again next year. Paul and Bill noted they caught 77 Pike over 20 Pounds in the ten days they fished here!
I only have a few days left here and then I have to head back to my real job in the oil field. Adam will be here with his wife to ensure everyone is looked after and our dad (Andy) might try to sneak up here to give him a hand for the last 5 days of fishing. The boats have been a excellent addition to our operation and it's good to know they are appreciated. The positive comments of the excellent food Denis makes for us here are ongoing daily! We also hear about the skilled guides we have and the knowledge of the lake they offer our clients.
I am sad to leave but looking forward to next year and seeing all the new freinds I have made again and making a few new ones.
Check out the photo galleries for both bears and fish as we update them weekly!
Take care all i'll talk to you soon.

June 17th, 2011- Well I had my laugh for the day already. I watched my brother Adam attempt to take a broken light bulb out of a socket and shock the crap right out of himself, at least we know the back up gen is supplying plenty lots of power haha.
Yesterday the weather wasn't nice, we recieved a bit of rain and it was very windy. However we needed the rain and the guys still got out fishing and had a successful first day of their trip. It is slightly overcast today and the wind has died down. I have added all the pictures of our staff to the web page so if anyone would like to see who we have working here go check it out. They all work very hard for us and are doing a great job. We are lucky to have great employee's.
There is a nest with some owls in it right behind the kitchen and the young ones started flying today. One of the baby owls had fallen out of the nest a few days ago so I climbed up the tree to the nest and put it back in there. A few more days and all of them should be flying around.
I'm heading out with Adam and Rob to go do some exploring, maybe find some new spots to hunt bears next year and possibly try and catch a fish or 2.
Talk to you all tomorrow!

June 16th, 2011- The wind picked up a bit yesterday out of the north and blew a little weather in. We had a great week fishing with Pete, Don, Ron, Chris, Jim and Mitchell. Lots of big pike were caught and a great time was had by all. Thanks for fishing with Cree Lake Lodge. You are all great guys to have in camp and I am looking forward to spending time with you again next year! All the pictures from last week are posted in the photo gallery so be sure to go check them out.
The bears are hitting the baits hard, we had to go searching for a barrell at one spot as they had ripped it off the tree and hauled it away. I had a pretty close encounter with a bear and I got most of it on videio so I hope I can put it on the web page here for you all to see.
One of our generators broke down so we are running on our back up right now. Adam is currently taking the broken one apart to get part numbers to have the parts sent up to repair it as we don't like to chance running without a back up longer than we have to. Adams wife Darrelle has been helping Denis in the kitchen making some amazing deserts and the kids are being kids having fun playing and fishing a bit with dad when he finds time.
We are past the break in stage on all of out new 60 hp mercs so we have changed the oil in them all and will be servicing them regularly to keep them in top condition to ensure all are able to explore any part of Cree Lake with no worries of engine troubles. We have had more than plenty of positive comments and feed back on these boats and they have already proven to be a great asset to the business as I have heard a few time "No fishing lodge in Saskatchewan has boats this nice"
Any how I am heading out to go and see how the bear baits are doing today. I Hope everyone is getting the fishing time in this summer that is needed and also time away from work to relax and enjoy life.
Take care and well keep you posted on how our day progresses at Cree Lake Lodge.

June 5, 2011 - Everything is running perfect and we are ready for the first clients to arrive at the lodge tonight! All 6 brand new boats and motors are here and running great. It was quite the adventure getting them here but we made it. It has been quite windy here the last few days and we even had some snow yesterday and the day before. Our water tank had a crack in it yesterday so we spent most of the afternoon fixing that. All the guides, cook and cleaning personell are here and excited to have a full camp. Check out the photo galleries for photo updates as we will do our best to keep it updated daily.
Let the fishing begin tomorrow morning!

May 31, 2011 (From Cree Lake Lodge)

Up here setting up the lodge and things are going pretty well....... a few minor set-backs but all in all going pretty smooth. We had a few leaks in the piping getting the water going for the lodge but we patched them up and all the water is hooked up and working great. Had a few small issues with getting the generators going but the main gen-set and back up are both ran, tested, serviced and ready to go. Bruce and I have been cleaning things up, making some minor repairs where needed...some major :) We have the main bones of the lodge functioning and ready.

We have 2 bear baits out they have been our for 2-3 days. I will be re-bait them tomorrow and see if we have any action at either. Hope to put out a few more but 2 is all we had time for so far.

Other than that its business here as usual, we start with a list of things to do and everyday we find more stuff thats need attention. We will keep on tinkering and hopefully everything up here is satisfactory for when everyone arrives....

Im sure glad Bruce is here, as always he's a big help and assest to have here..

May 26th, 2011- Heading up to Cree!!! Hello everyone, Everything is on track and things are going well for getting the lodge fired up and ready to go. I will be heading up on the 28th with Bruce to get the lodge going and Brandon will be shortly behind with all our great guides and chef Dennis to help out. We have word that the ice is mostly off the lake so by the beginning of June it should be all clear. Really looking forward to spending all of June at Cree Lake with friends and family. Dock will be re-built, camp cleaned and set up and bear baits should all be out and ready to go for when everyone arrives. Can't wait to see everyone hook into some trophy fish, fry some in the pan and for anyone who hunts to get some big bear on the ground!

If anyone wants to get in touch you can e-mail me at apsenv@telus.net or Brandon on his e-mail below. Should have the e-mails going at camp on the 29th or 30th. See you all there!!!

May. 11th 2011- We are gearing up to head north to Cree Lake for the month of June. It looks like the ice should be off the lake just in time for fishing. We have had a bit of a later spring which had everyone worried but it looks like everything is going to be fine. All the guides, chef Dennis, Maintenance man Bruce and Adam and I (Brandon) are all ready to go. The huge pike and lakers are going to get stirred up starting June 5th. I've heard its supposed to be a warm June with great weather! I hope it stays nice and the rain stays away for all the clients joining us this year. The Schreiber family Holiday in Jamaica was amazing and a great time was had by all. If anyone has any concerns or questions that is heading to Cree this spring please feel free to fire me an E-mail brandon_schreiber@hotmail.com.
Don't forget your heavy test line!

April.15th 2011- Hello again everyone! Sorry I haven't been on here in awhile but things have been busy! The web page is now updated with most of the pictures form last season and we will be able to update it everyday from the lodge through out the up coming season. Everything is great at Cree Lake Adam and I went up at the end of February and hauled in all the supplies we need for the summer. It was pretty chilly a few days as the temp dropped below -40'!! We had our little sister Andrea and out two good friends John Prosak and Tanner Helboe come help us out. Aside from a small bit of frost bite from the cold weather all went very well and everything is ready for opening day in June. We have bought all new boats and motors for the lodge and are hoping they arrive soon soe we can try to get them up to the lodge for this summer. Brand new 18 ft crestliners with 60 hp 4 stroke mercs, I hope everyone is as excited to use them as we are to purchase them, I know the guides are pretty pleased and it should make for an even better fishing / outdoors experience for the clients. I am back at work in the oil field for a few days and then the entire Schreiber family is going on a family holiday to Jamaica. After I get home from there I will be guiding some bear hunters with Buck Paradise Outfitters and then up to Cree Lake for the month of June. We still have a few openings available so if your interested give us a call.
